A brand new "Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice" trailer has come out and while I was extremely excited about the trailer and the direction it looked like the the movie was going....well, just take a look.
Could this really be a movie where Supes is a bad guy? A lot of people don't like Superman because he is too wholesome and lacks any kind of edge. After witnessing Superman with a crew of zealots bowing to him as he walked by was a magnificent scene and it excited me to think maybe he'd be a different Superman. One we rarely get to see. Come to find out this is more than likely just a nightmare Bruce Wayne had. While this makes sense, it was very disappointing.
I was cool thinking that maybe, just maybe, we would get a villain Superman. After being branded a terror and after saving the world from certain destruction or at the very least living under the booted heel of Zod and his compatriots and being directly responsible for the genocide of the Kryptonian race, you'd figure there would be some sort of praise for him. Nope. The general public still thinks of him as a dangerous alien waiting to take over the planet. I don't know about you, but I'd be beyond pissed off if I saved the world, broke my one rule about killing, and then I end up being called all sorts of unfavorable things. I may be disappointed at the truth of the movie, but it makes sense.
Bruce Wayne more than likely had this dream after the watching all the destruction caused by Zod and Superman's battle in the first movie. Batman having been retired more than likely comes out of retirement to take out what he deems as a threat. So rather than wait for Superman to actually become a threat, he decides to take him out before it can happen. Pretty much standard Batman stuff.
Of course I will still see the Batman VS Superman movie when it comes out. I'll probably go see it the day it comes out. But it would have been nice for the people in the movies to throw us a little curve.
